Vintage 1980’s Treasures has My Forever Treasures offering rare venue posters. The Talking Heads at The Greek Theater & Bow Wow Wow at The Roxy are 1980’s favorites. The Talking Heads was an American rock band founded in 1975 in N.Y.C. and performed until 1991. The band featured former art students David Byrne (lead vocal & guitar) Chris Franz (drums) Tina Weymouth (bass) and Jerry Harrison (keyboards, guitar.) They were one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 1980’s. Talking Heads helped to pioneer new wave music by integrating elements of punk, art rock, and world music with avant-garde sensibilities and an anxious clean-cut look. Their debut album in 1977 received positive reviews and they subsequently collaborated w. producer Brian Eno on a trio of experimental and critically acclaimed releases. The band hit it’s commercial peak in 1983, w. the U.S. Top 10 hit “Burning Down The House,” and released a concert film “Stop Making Sense” directed by Jonathan Demme. They released several more albums including best selling “Littler Creatures,” in 1985. They were inducted into the R. & R. Vintage Sonny and Cher Wild On The Beach Lobby Card 1965

“Wild On The Beach” 1965, was a beach party movie notable for the music acts showcased on screen. Especially, the film debut of Sonny and Cher. They played themselves and received fourth billing. “Wild On The Beach” promised 11 Big Beat Songs and the fun that’s certain when guys and gals rent the same beach house. Backed by the group The Astronauts, Sonny and Cher sang “It’s Gonna Rain,” written by Sonny.This was producer/director Maury Dexter’s 3rd teen flick & 2nd effort to imitate AIP’s “Beach Party” Formula. A rare black & white teen film. The movie was promoted as a standard beach party film with posters showing girls in bikinis & a title song with lyrics about “two steps down to the nearest wave.” However, no one in the cast actually wore swimsuits nor did they do anything but walk fully clothed on the beach. The only surfing was a few random inserts of extras on surfboards. Bob Dylan and Tom Petty performed at the 1st Farm Aid in 1985. Their chemistry was so incredible they decided to tour together in 1986. They called this the “True Confessions Tour.” After New Zealand shows and 13 dates in Australia, they electrified audiences in Japan for another 4 concerts.This March 5 and March 10 ~ Nippon Budokan Tokyo,Japan Concert Poster is the treasure that publicized these events. It’s Muhammad Ali’s birthday. Today we celebrate the life of the most loved and recognized man on earth. The Heavyweight Champion who possessed a rare combination of love, respect, generosity, smart as could be, with a magical sense of humor above and beyond what made the world smile! In and out of the boxing ring Ali was the fastest. He’d always be the first to declare he was “The Greatest Champion of All Time!” It’s true! This, 1971 rarity is 20″ x 30.” From, 1970-1974 he designed, 4 posters for the Stones. Pasche, was commissioned by Mick Jagger, to create The Rolling Stones Logo. His,”Lips” and “Tongue” logo designs, are iconic and recognized around the world. Even, his freelance art designs, for Paul McCartney, The Who, and Bowie are legendary. In 2006, they won 6 Grammy Awards, including Best Album and Best Song of the Year. U2 has won 22 Grammy Awards = Total ! They were elected, to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 2005, their first year of eligibility. They use their huge success, to campaign for human rights and are among the most socially active. Today, they perform at Stadiums attended by more than 50,000 fans. Concert 10 Music Festival, July 8 and 9th, 1972, at Pocono Raceway, Pennsylvania, was the first super music festival to succeed, 3 years after 1969’s Woodstock’s, historic 3 day Music Festival for the ages. It, attracted 200,000 people, demonstrating a revival of the summer rock festival. International superstars, 3 Dog Night, The Faces with Ken Jones, Ron Lane, Ian McLagan, Rod Stewart and Ron Wood electrified the audience. This, was among the Faces final concerts. Rod Stewart, had already reached # 1, as a solo artist, with his classic “Maggie May.” In a few years, Ron Wood, would be departing to join the Rolling Stones.Their show set included, Elton John’s “Country Comfort” and McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed.” The Faces, co-headlined the festival, with Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Humble Pie, Edgar Winter, J. Geils Band, + a dozen favorites. The great show, was victimized, by cold inclement weather, pouring rain and mud for as far as the eye could see. As a result, the show ran many hours behind schedule. The Rolling Stones 1972 Tour of America, delivered “The Greatest R. & R. Band of All Time,” At Their Best. This tour supported their # 1 Album, “Exile on Main Street.” The Winterland Shows, were the 3rd city for the Stones. Stevie Wonder, with his current hit song “Superstition,” opened the shows. This tour, exposed Stevie to a broader rock audience. He shined. The audience loved him. The Rolling Stones, 21 song set overwhelmed their fans. Mick and his mates, opened with “Honky Tonk Women.” “Gimme Shelter,” “Tumbling Dice” & “Brown Sugar” followed. Stevie Wonder, joined them, for the “Satisfaction” Encore. These San Francisco Shows, were highlights of this tour. The lithograph of these Winterland Shows was the producer, Bill Graham’s idea.:) Graham, called these the “Tumblin’ Dice” Shows. Using, their hit song as the theme. Featuring the DICE, David Singer, Bill’s favorite poster artist from 1969-71, created this iconic image.
