Mary Pickford Vintage Autographed Photo 1916

Mary Pickford was the most famous silent film actress. In 1909, when she started her film career, actors and actresses were not given their name in screen credit. The audience took to her as the “girl with the golden curls.” She became a sensation as “America’s Sweetheart.” Several of her silent films grossed more than $ 1 million, and by 1916, she was receiving a $10,000 a week salary. With Chaplin, Fairbanks and Griffith, she formed 20th Century Fox for film distribution. As producer and star of her own films, she became the most powerful woman in motion picture history. She was one of the founders of the Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress, in 1929’s “Coquette” her first “talkie.” She owned the rights to the film and it’s more than one million dollars gross as well. After retiring, Mary Pickford continued producing films. She sold her remaining shares of 20th Century Fox in 1956.

Our vintage treasures await you.   We’re offering fans of pretend vain wrestling heroes and heels a vintage old school 1970’s original Professional Wrestling Promotional Match Card Poster 22″ x 14″ heavy card stock. Pro wrestlers are always politically incorrect. Tag teams such as “The Assassins,” “Beer Money Inc.,””The Spanish Fleas,” Midget Team “The Mini Vans,” & Native American Tag Team “The Wahoos” all have names meant to offend fans. Names like “The Sheik,” “Andre The Giant” “The Big Boss Man” & “The Rock” aren’t their real names. When born, weighing just 8 pounds, did their parents really name them “HULK HOGAN!” or “The Undertaker!” The public xxx’s FAKE Wrestling.     Our rare “2nd Golden Era” […]

1908 5th Ave. & 42nd St. N.Y.C. Photo Post Card Detroit Pub. Co.

In 1899, the first documented mailed postcard was delivered. By 1902, the photo postcard was perfected. The photo was printed on postcard stock, with the postcard information on the back. Only the address and stamp, were allowed on the back. Your message, had to be on the front, over the image. In 1907, the law was changed.  The address and stamp were still on the back. Now you, also could write on the back as well. The image on the front, finally was unmarked. Postcards became, a favorite choice,  for communication. The Detroit Pub. Co. was # 1.   In a good year, Detroit Pub. Co. printed some 7 million images. Photochroms ,  are the earliest European examples of commercially viable color photography. The black & white photograph, needs a coloring process. Detroit Pub. Co. created, their own brand name for the process. They called the Photochroms, their copywritten “Photostints.” This company has thrived, since the turn of the 20th century.   My Forever Treasures, is offering a 1908 Detroit Pub. Co. Classic. “Fifth Ave. and 42nd Street.” New York. This company’s trademark, was the ability to offer spectacular images, from a place, where Time has Not Passed. The Detroit […]

Charlie Chaplin Photo Tobacco Trading Card 1920

Charlie Chaplin is a film producer, actor, director, writer , editor and often wrote the music, for his films as well. In 1914, Chaplin worked in his first silent films. His $150 weekly salary was considered generous. Mack Sennett Studio, in Hollywood, is where Chaplin got his start. In just his second film, for Sennett, he created, his “Little Tramp” character.  It would be a contradiction in appearance. Charlie would have huge shoes, a tiny hat, a tight jacket, and big billowing pants. He added a small mustache, to make him look older, but small as to not hid his face. In Sennett Studio’s second film, debuting Chaplin’s “Tramp,” the film was a success and the public loved his “Tramp.” Overnight, Charlie Chaplin became a sensation.   The “Tramp” made him so famous, around the world, in 1916,  Charlie had another studio offer him a $670,000 contract. This made “The Comedy King of the Silent Screen,” the highest paid   most recognizable figure on earth. He went on to produce, act, direct, edit, write the screenplay, and often the music, for his films. Many of his silent films are classics, and showed $Million profits. In 1918, with Mary Pickford and […]
