George Harrison was an English musician, singer-songwriter, and music and film producer who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Harrison embraced Indian culture and helped broaden the scope of popular music through his incorporation of Indian instrumental and Hindu-aligned spirituality in the Beatles work. His songs for the group include, “Taxman,” “Within Without You,” “Here Comes the Sun” and “Something.” He released several best-selling singles and albums as a solo artist. Vintage Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars Souvenir Program 1959

In 1959, radio and television personality and television producer Dick Clark organized and produced a concert tour of rock and roll and rhythm and blues artists. Many had appeared on his music performance and dance television program “American Bandstand.” The tour was booked as Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars. During it’s seven year existence the tours grew to gross $5 million annually. The concert featured up to seventeen acts each performing two or three songs. All were backed by the same band. They toured sixty to ninety days on the road. The show was spotlighted by major artists such as Paul Anka and they would close the show. Other artists like Gene Pitney and Lloyd Price and groups such as the Coasters and Drifters would fill out spots in the shows. The shows offered four hours of non-stop hits. Initial costs of tickets were $1.50. Dick Clark’s Caravan of Stars began todays touring Billion Dollar Industry. Vintage 1930’s Walt Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Tiles

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” is a 1937 American animated musical film by Walt Disney Productions and released by R.K.O. Radio Pictures. It takes place in Greece and the Mediterranean Area. After wandering through the forest for hours, Snow White discovers a tiny cottage belonging to a group of seven dwarfs, who work in nearby mines. Snow White assumes the 7 dwarfs are children and with the help of animals proceeds to clean the place and cook a meal. It turns out the cottage belongs to the 7 adult dwarfs, named Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey. Miners make her part of the household. The film is the first to have a musical soundtrack, with favorites like “Whistle While You Work,” “Someday My Prince Will Come,” and the dwarfs sing “Heigh Ho” (It’s Off To Work We Go,) and dance and play instruments. The Jacksons are a group founded by their father Joe Jackson in 1965. As The Jackson 5, they consisted of Michael, Marlon, and older brothers Jackie, Tito and Jermaine. In 1968 they signed with Motown, and were the first group to debut with four consecutive number one hits, with the songs “I Want You Back,” “A.B.C.,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There.” 3 of these songs have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They also achieved 16 top 40 hits. In 1976 Jermaine was replaced by Randy. They’ve sold more than 100 records world-wide. They performed as the Jacksons from 1976-1981, winning a Best Vocal Group Award as well. The success of their four Jackson 5 Albums had them replacing The Supremes as Motown’s Best-Selling Group. Vintage 1980’s Treasures has My Forever Treasures offering rare venue posters. The Talking Heads at The Greek Theater & Bow Wow Wow at The Roxy are 1980’s favorites. The Talking Heads was an American rock band founded in 1975 in N.Y.C. and performed until 1991. The band featured former art students David Byrne (lead vocal & guitar) Chris Franz (drums) Tina Weymouth (bass) and Jerry Harrison (keyboards, guitar.) They were one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 1980’s. Talking Heads helped to pioneer new wave music by integrating elements of punk, art rock, and world music with avant-garde sensibilities and an anxious clean-cut look. Their debut album in 1977 received positive reviews and they subsequently collaborated w. producer Brian Eno on a trio of experimental and critically acclaimed releases. The band hit it’s commercial peak in 1983, w. the U.S. Top 10 hit “Burning Down The House,” and released a concert film “Stop Making Sense” directed by Jonathan Demme. The Brian Jones passing as documented in the August 9, 1969 Rolling Stones Magazine Cover Story remains one of Rock and Roll’s most historic tragedies. He was an English musician, best known as founder and the original leader of The Rolling Stones. Initially a slide guitarist, Jones would go on to play a wide variety of instruments on Rolling Stones recordings and in concerts. He was prolific as a rhythm and lead guitar player, also excelled at various keyboard instruments such as piano and organ, marimba, harmonica, sitar, wind instruments such as recorder, saxophone, oboe and numerous others. Fats Domino, was an American singer, songwriter and pianist. Domino’s, early signature crowd favorite, was his stomping New Orleans barrel house piano style. He, pioneered the Rock ‘n’ Roll Sound, of the 1950’s. This, early rock & roller, had a boogie piano. It,enabled Fats, to become the 1st black original innovator, to crossover to Billboard’s Pop Charts. Domino classics “Ain’t That A Shame,” and 5 million selling record “Blueberry Hill,” paved the way for Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley.
