Vintage Collectible Tom Terrific Comic Book 1957 Number 1

My Forever Treasures is glad we can satisfy the requests for a vintage comic book. We are offering the iconic issue 1 of the beloved Tom Terrific Comic Books. Tom Terrific was an early animated series on American television presented as part of the Captain Kangaroo Show (1957-59.) A Terrytoon creation which ran in five-minute cartoon segments. They were created specifically for the Captain Kangaroo Show.   Tom Terrific and his faithful, comic lazy-bones of a sidekick Mighty Manfred The Wonder Dog were a treat. He’d make cereal for Manfred, to pep him up. Tom could transform himself into anything he wanted thanks to his magic funnel-shaped thinking cap. Tom once turned himself into a spray gun, airplane and alarm clock to help these two rescue circus animals. The public loved their antics.   Reading this comic book has made me a fan as well. In the story “The Lost River” our pals go fishing. After finding there was no water in the river, Tom transformed into a helicopter and a cyclone to find a thirsty alligator. You had to be there. If you were, there was great fishing. A story has Tom and Manfred search for elephiraffes.(1/2 elephant/ […]

Vintage Rare Collectible Remco 1965 Addams Family Lurch Figure Filmways Production

Today My Forever Treasures offers one of our favorite vintage television treasures. The Addams Family’s butler Lurch is the prize. Lurch is a fictional character created by Charles Addams as the manservant to the Addams Family. In the 1960’s American television “Addams Family” series, Lurch served as the family’s fictional butler. Ted Cassidy was an American actor who became famous portraying the giant 6′ 9″ Lurch. He used the famous catch phrase “You rang!”   Lurch is a 6′ 9″ tall, shambling, gloomy butler. He often communicates via single inarticulate moans, which his employers have no trouble understanding. He’s not a very good butler but extremely loyal. There’s always fun along the way. The family resides at Cemetery Lane, in an ornate, gloomy second Empire Style mansion. They have macabre interests and supernatural powers.   Gomez Addams is the over top retired lawyer/husband/father . He has a son and daughter with Morticia his wife, who he adores. Others might find their values strange, as Morticia grows carnivorous plants and Uncle Festus relaxes on a bed of nails. Charming Lurch was the fans favorite in this 1960’s hit comedy. Today his collectible 6.25″ x 1.75″ x 2″ figure is as big […]

Vintage Herman Munster Remco 1964 Munsters Family Figure

The Munsters is an American sitcom depicting the home life of a family of benign monsters. Herman is the head-of-the-household. He is a Frankenstein monster type. In 1965 the show was nominated for a Golden Globe. The series was a satire of both traditional monster movies and the wholesome family fare of the era… It was produced by those who created “Leave It To Beaver.” It ran concurrently w. the similar macabre themed “The Addams Family,” but fared much better in the ratings.   Instead of animation, a live version proved to be the ideal novel formula. The characters would be supernatural creatures. The show followed the familiar family sitcom formula of the era. The well meaning father, the nurturing mother, the eccentric well meaning relative, the naive teenager and the precocious child. The series offered customized monster possessions, such as a dragster made out of a coffin. The monster/normal life theme was so popular, it’s still loved today, by children and adults more than 50 years later.   Herman Munster’s Frankenstein look and demeanor became the show’s fan favorite. My Forever Treasures is wide eyed, as we share our first vintage monster prize. The figure stands 6.25″ x 1.75″ x […]
