Today My Forever Treasures offers one of our favorite vintage television treasures. The Addams Family’s butler Lurch is the prize. Lurch is a fictional character created by Charles Addams as the manservant to the Addams Family. In the 1960’s American television “Addams Family” series, Lurch served as the family’s fictional butler. Ted Cassidy was an American actor who became famous portraying the giant 6′ 9″ Lurch. He used the famous catch phrase “You rang!”
Lurch is a 6′ 9″ tall, shambling, gloomy butler. He often communicates via single inarticulate moans, which his employers have no trouble understanding. He’s not a very good butler but extremely loyal. There’s always fun along the way. The family resides at Cemetery Lane, in an ornate, gloomy second Empire Style mansion.They have macabre interests and supernatural powers.
Gomez Addams is the over top retired lawyer/husband/father . He has a son and daughter with Morticia his wife, who he adores. Others might find their values strange, as Morticia grows carnivorous plants and Uncle Festus relaxes on a bed of nails. Charming Lurch was the fans favorite in this 1960’s hit comedy. Today his collectible 6.25″ x 1.75″ x 2″ figure is as big a favorite as the 6′ 9″ Lurch was more than 50 years ago. His body is made of hard plastic and head movable soft vinyl. His hair is straw blond and you can comb it. He’s our macbre treasure for you. = It’s true.
