Vintage Election Pinbacks 1940 to 1980 Our Favorite Losers

During this election year, My Forever Treasures, is beaming, as we offer pinbacks of 4 vintage unsuccessful candidates 1940-1980.  Vote For Phillip Morris was a 1940 mistake. As popular as cigarettes were in the 1940’s, the public rejected the notion, of voting for the entire company to the Presidency.  The classic Phillip Morris Bellhop, encourages “Vote for Phillip Morris.”  Our guess is, they were running for the Delusional Political Party.  A k.o. 1″ msitake.   The second unsuccessful candidate, is the 1950’s, “Have You Voted For Lassie” pinbsck.  This 1950’s television star, was hoping to be, the first dog elected to the Presidency.  An overwhelming mistake, as Lassie appealed to voters, much too young to vote. A favorite of child voters. = and there’s no such thing.  1.75″ Beauty. Ideal to wear,  for a disability interview.   1980, “Linda Ronstadt for First Lady.” As popular as Linda was, you can’t run for First Lady. There is no such thing. These are only Presidential Elections. This great 1.25″ pinback, will serve as proof, both Linda and you, didn’t have a clue.  A misguided idea, who’s time has never come. A 1980 Ronstadt winner, although Linda, never had a chance.   Finally, our 1960’s […]

Elvis Presley His Hand In Mine and Sun Record Large Pinbacks

In 1960, Elvis Presley recorded “His Hand In Mine,” his first gospel album. He always loved gospel music. Sometimes, before a show or recording session, Elvis would sing gospel songs, to warm up his voice.  This album was special to Elvis, as he had Boots Randolph on sax and Floyd Cramer on keyboards, join his trio and the Jordanaires. Only gospel classics were chosen. “His Hand In Mine,” “If We Never Meet Again,” and “In My Father’s House,” are a few of the highlights. The song “Surrender” wasn’t included on the album, but offered as a single. “Surrender” proved to be, Elvis first number 1 hit song of 1961. The gospel genre,  met with great success. It expanded his audience, & there would be more.  Critics praised the kindness in his voice. This gave E.P fans, another reason to love him. My Forever Treasures, is pleased to offer, this large 3″  “His Hand In Mine,” Promotional Pinback. If you love Elvis Presley and Gospel = This large color close-up, will seal the deal.   In 1954 and 1955, Elvis Presley first recorded for Sun Records.  5 songs were released, with Scotty and Bob backing him up. Elvis played rhythm guitar […]

The Film Spectator January 26 1929 Headlines

Jack Warner was among the first major Hollywood film producers, to champion sound on film, aka “the talkies.” Certain they were the future for film, he produced 1928’s “Tenderloin.” This was the first feature, where the characters, spoke their own dialogue. Although, only 15 of the 88 minutes were talking, the public was dazzled.   Jack Warner’s July 1928, all talking “Lights of New York” cost $23,000 to produce. It showed a 5,000 %, 1.2 million dollar profit.  Warner believed “talkies” were a license to print money. These January 26, 1929, The Film Spectator headlines have Jack Warner banning The Spectator.   For the previous 15 years, The Silent  Film Industry, had been The Film Spectator’s cash cow. “Talkies”  became a threat to silent film’s survival.  The Film Spectator, had offered headlines about, the public “not wanting to hear voices.” This was spirited by,  the soon to be bankrupt silent film sector. Jack Warner was  producing, “On With The Show,” an all talking, color feature film. Warner’s ban on The Spectator Headlines, demonstrates a powerful film producer, at war with a fading rival.   Framed on your wall, these headlines will serve as vintage eye candy.  A memorial, to the […]

Charlie Chaplin Photo Tobacco Trading Card 1920

Charlie Chaplin is a film producer, actor, director, writer , editor and often wrote the music, for his films as well. In 1914, Chaplin worked in his first silent films. His $150 weekly salary was considered generous. Mack Sennett Studio, in Hollywood, is where Chaplin got his start. In just his second film, for Sennett, he created, his “Little Tramp” character.  It would be a contradiction in appearance. Charlie would have huge shoes, a tiny hat, a tight jacket, and big billowing pants. He added a small mustache, to make him look older, but small as to not hid his face. In Sennett Studio’s second film, debuting Chaplin’s “Tramp,” the film was a success and the public loved his “Tramp.” Overnight, Charlie Chaplin became a sensation.   The “Tramp” made him so famous, around the world, in 1916,  Charlie had another studio offer him a $670,000 contract. This made “The Comedy King of the Silent Screen,” the highest paid   most recognizable figure on earth. He went on to produce, act, direct, edit, write the screenplay, and often the music, for his films. Many of his silent films are classics, and showed $Million profits. In 1918, with Mary Pickford and […]

Icon Eye Candy Vintage Rare Bob Dylan and Paul Simon Pinbacks

My Forever Treasures is beaming, as we offer rare pinback memories, from the careers of Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. Both are considered, American Songwriting Royalty.  Bob and Paul are multiple Grammy winners, idolized for decades.   Our first treasure, is a 1970 Bob Dylan “Tarantula” promotional pinback. “Tarantula” was Bob Dylan’s first book. The pinback is 2 1/2″ and especially rare, as the publisher barely promoted the book. Dylan’s trademark, is his ability, to raise the standard of excellence, for lyrical music. “Like A Rolling Stone,” has critics and fans celebrating Bob Dylan, as America’s greatest musical poet.  He had no intention or ever signed, to write this book. His manager, accepted the publisher’s offer, without Bob’s consent. The demand, didn’t sit well = at all!!   “Tarantula” has Bob Dylan, writing in a streaming subconsciousness style, often appearing to be experimental prose.  He uses a systematic derangement of the senses. The 143 pages, are characterized by an irrational arrangement of material. It’s Dylan’s version of Anti-Art ! The most quoted thought, has Bob Dylan offer, “Now is not the time to get silly.” “Put on your clown’s boots and jump on the garbage.”  Most literary reviewers said, “Buy his […]

Don’t Be Cruel and Hound Dog Vintage Elvis Pinbacks

On July 2, 1956, Elvis Presley recorded, both “Don’t Be Cruel” in 28 takes and “Hound Dog” in 31 takes. His input was evident on both. Scotty Moore, Bill Black and D.J. Fontana backed him. Elvis played rhythm guitar and sang. The Jordanaires sang backup vocals . Although Otis Blackwell wrote the song, he gave Elvis co-writing credit and also 50% of the publishing rights. As the song was released on Elvis Presley’s publishing company Hill and Range.   This was the first, of many lucrative deals, Colonel Parker demanded.  Parker guaranteed one million sales, for Elvis recording a song. In return, Elvis Presley would receive co-writing credit and 50% of the publishing rights. This worked out great for everyone on “Don’t Be Cruel.” It sold 4 million copies in 1956, and 6 million, by 1961. Elvis sang the song, on all 3 Ed Sullivan Television performances. Twice in Sept. 1956, and again Jan. 1957.   “Don’t Be Cruel” was the “A” side song, of the dual hit single. “Hound Dog” was the “B” side. “Hound Dog” was written by Lieber and Stoller, who retained their publishing rights. Colonel Parker wasn’t pleased, but they also wrote “Jailhouse Rock” and kept those […]

Vintage Mother Teresa Hand Signed Photograph

The child who would become Mother Teresa, was born in 1910. At a very early age, she was overwhelmed by her religious desires.  Other children went to the school yard to play. She found herself, going to church, and praying just for fun. As an adult , this would become her only hobby. During her childhood, analytic findings offered,  she had “Saint Potential.”   To take advantage of this gift, at 18 she studied at a convent in Ireland.  Many girls her age were drawn to fashion, boys and fun.  She found herself giddy, at the prospects of poverty, chastity and obedience.  She took her vows in 1928 and final vows as a missionary, in 1937.   In 1946, Sister Teresa, showed signs of missionary overdrive.  She believed she had a call within a call, to leave the convent for the squalor,  found on the streets of Calcutta. Her ultimate passion, was to  help the poor, abandoned and dying. The Pope granted her wish.  Mother Teresa chose to live among these desperate people as well.  She had her mail delivered, to M. Teresa, Squalor, Calcutta. Every donation, arrived safely.   Mother Theresa created, The Missionaries of Charity. She and 400 […]
